Green Move Out

Green Move Out

Overview

Green Move Out is an initiative from the Office of Sustainability, in partnership with Goodwill, the Hutchins Library, and Residence Life to reduce waste and promote a culture of reuse by collecting donations from students moving out of residence halls. Are you moving out of your residence hall at the end of the Spring Semester? If so, take your donations (clean and in good shape), to the temporary donation area in your building during the last two weeks of April and the first week of May. Please make sure to sort items in correct bin! Not sure what can – and cannot – be donated? Check out the information provided below.

  • Backpacks, purses, accessories
  • Books
  • Clothes & shoes
  • Lamps & décor
  • Household goods
  • Music & movies
  • School supplies
  • Small appliances (clocks, radios, microwaves, etc.)
  • Towels, linens, blankets, and sheets

What Will My Donations Support?

  • Books donated will support the Hutchins Library’s Free Book Fair
  • School supplies donated will support the Office of Sustainability’s Free Store Program
  • Clothes, shoes, linens, accessories, small appliances, etc. will support Goodwill's operations.
